Issue Position: Great Lakes & Conservation

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2018

Rob strongly believes that our Great Lakes, rivers and stream, land and inland lakes define who we are as Michiganders. Conservation is critical to our natural resources so our children and grandchildren can continue to grow crops on our farms sustainably, enjoy fishing and boating on pristine lakes and rivers, and start small businesses that attract visitors and dollars to local communities.

Strong protections to preserve Michigan's water, air and land.
Polluters who endanger the lakes and rivers we enjoy and the air we breathe will pay stiff fines and pay for all cleanup, restoration and recovery costs, as well as lost income for homeowners and local businesses.
Robust protections against invasive species, including ballast water protections and Asian carp prevention.
Aggressively address climate change and mitigation strategies that can proactively protect our Great Lakes, West Michigan's agriculture sector and our way of life.
